Cycling Corinthia 2018

7-DAY CYCLO IN CORINTHIA

6 stages – 604 Kilometres – 11.771 meters altitude climbed

Cycle and discover with us one of the most beautiful regions of Greece, Corinthia. Corinthia takes her name from her ancient capital, Corinth, a city-state famous for its commercial and cultural activities. Situated at the gates of the Peloponnese, 100km from Athens, and cradled on the one side by the clear blue waters of the Gulf of Corinth and on the other side by steep mountains, Corinthia is a destination rich in history and exceptionally varied in vues and landscapes.

During our 6-day Cyclo we will cross 604 km of seaside and mountain routes and we will climb a total altitude of close to 12.000 m. Our itineraries include mythological peaks, such as Kyllene, where Hermes hid the sacred cows of his brother Apollo; ancient cities, such as Ancient Corinth; medieval fortresses, such as the Acrocorinth;  mythical lakes, such as the Stymfalia lake, where Hercules performed one of his 12 Labours; innumerable vineyards and countless olive groves.

During each stage of our Cyclo we will be accompanied by support vehicles, a specialised mechanic and a nurse. At approximately the middle of each stage, a « Body Refueling » station will be set up to help our body recover some its spent nutrients. At the end of each stage warm and hospitable hosts will welcome us in beautiful 2 to 5-star hotels and massage therapists will be at our disposal to take care of our tired muscles. Our evening meals, which will be perfectly adapted to our daily nutritional needs, will be created using local products and traditional recipes.

Our last evening will be a celebaration of our feats ! We will lodge in the thermal seaside city of Loutraki, on its famous waterfront promenade; we will visit its newly renovated spa; and we will have a succulent dinner of fish and seafood in a cosy seafront taverne. Next morning, before departing for the airport, we will say goodbye with a quick swim in the sea !
